Dear Haylie,
My book is called A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer. My book is about a boy named Dave his alcoholic mother beats him for no good reason. Just to see him curls up like a snake at sun down. Dave has always believed in god, but he starts to lose faith. Only his dreams keep him alive. Will he ever escape this nightmare?
I liked this book because it had a lot of emotions. Were Dave was open on how his life was … that he never blamed anyone for the horror of his life expect the one that cause it his mom! The author of A Child Called It gave a lot of detail. Like he was right from the bottom of his heart. Like even thought that the beating and those awful playing games were in the past, he still wanted to remember because that was what made him strong in the end. Hailey I think you should read this book because it will make a big impact on your life. You don’t realize how lucky you are until you read or even see some on getting beat and there emotion towards it. Its like you can’t believe how some child spend their life worrying about food, life for that matter…The author did a great job of writing the story A Child Called It because the author was that little boy, that got beat by this alcoholic mother. Dave Pelzer gave the emotion and the hurt into his story. Like he didn’t want to forget… he didn’t want people to feel bad for him only read his book and understand. I like how he wrapped it up so you want to read more. Like they say” No tears in the writer no tears in the reader”. That is saying goes exactly for this book A Child Called It. Dave put tears in my eyes a couple of times when his mother would play that awful games , making him nearly dead.
My rating for A Child Called It would have to be at least nine and a half because it gave an impact on my life… and it showed me everything is meant to be. Where I am happy of my life, not regretting what I have done. Only looking for the future keeping my head high. This book is fantastic has the detail and experiences you want.
Reading this book helped me make sense of the world by showing me to be happy and to keep m mind going all of the time. That when someone says you are a dreamer take that as a compliment, because just rember. There are kids that dreams are the only thing that keep them alive. Never let someone tell you that you can’t do it, show them if you can, live life to the fullest with no regrets because just remember Ur pain will end shortly.
Sincerely Kaylia
