Principals, and VP's, and Coaches oh my!

Today Ula Ula hosted a grand total of 18 district Principals, Vice Principals, and Building Coaches for a total of 30 minutes of class. That's almost as many students as we have in our class. Yet, Ula Ula performed magnificently, doing their best to pretend it was just another ordinary day in Walker world. I can tell you that as a teacher, I have been hosting large groups for five years and I never get used to it, so it's pretty amazing when a group of kids are able to adjust so quickly and share with pretty much the same comfort level of our small class setting. I'm very proud of you guys, and I'm pretty sure you'll receive the last two compliments you need to earn an October reward...

Sara's Book Talk

Sara's Book Talk:

The title of my book is Sleeping Freshmen never lie, the authors name is David Lubar. I think people should read this book because it’s kind of like a hand book for this boy named Scotts little brother. Scott is a freshman at high school who has a hard time with girls, and is loosing some of his friends. So it’s pretty much about how Scott gives the baby something to fall back on when he has any questions about high school. Another reason people should read this book is because it’s every entertaining, humorous, you might even learn some new vocabulary words. So grab a fluffy blanket, sit down on the wet grass and enjoy.

Jason's Descriptive Paragraph

When you come in my bedroom to the left hand you can see a bookshelf and next to the bookshelf is a dresser its brown and has four drawers. And four feet beside the dresser is a closet. In my closet I have cloths then in front of my closet four feet is my bed the sheets on my bed are white and a game table at the end of my bed. What do I hear at night, I hear the sound of the night? Which are crickets, which I hear when the window is open. I hear the sounds of frogs crocking, cars going by and dogs barking. The smell of my room, that I like the best is when my bed sheets are clean and my room is clean and vacuumed. I feel that my room is a place was I could go and feel relaxed, and enjoy the softness of my bed and my pillow and blanket. I feel that my room is a safe place to feel good and relaxed. I also feel good in the morning because I have the feeling of relaxation and a good night sleep.

Jacob's Gold!

Gold is money
Gold is power
Gold is wealth
Gold tastes like victory
Gold smells like money
Gold sounds like cheering
Gold feels like refined power
Gold looks like greed
Gold makes me feel powerful and rich

Haylie's Blue poem

Blue is the sky.
Blue is calm.
Blue is the color of relaxation.
Blue is my color of friendship.
Blue tastes like water.
Blue smells like rainy days.
Blue sounds like a waterfall.
Blue feels like a cold shower.
Blue looks like a rushing river.
Blue makes me cold.
Blue is my favorite color.
